Democrat Brad Schneider (l) and GOP Congressman Bob Dold (r)
WASHINGTON - Incumbent Congressman Bob Dold (IL-10) is leading his Democrat challenger Brad Schneider by seven points, a new poll released by the Republican National Congressional Committee says.
That's significant in a blue state like Illinois in a Democrat-leaning district, where the Democrat presidential candidate at the top of the ticket is leading over her GOP rival by 25 points.
The RNCC also boasts their poll shows Dold’s image at 45 favorable – 32 unfavorable, despite significant negative advertising by Schneider and Democrat groups.
“Brad Schneider’s spin machine has spent millions to try and defame Bob Dold’s solid record of independent leadership, but it’s brutally clear voters aren’t buying the lies Schneider is selling and are poised to once again reelect Dold to represent their voices in Congress,” said NRCC Spokesman Zach Hunter in a memo released Thursday morning.
