McHENRY - Former Congressman Joe Walsh says a report in the Daily Herald today that he is challenging Congressman Randy Hultgren in the 2016 GOP primary is not true.
Hultgren's staff is actively preparing for the scenario, and campaign workers for both Walsh and Hultgren were reportedly collecting petition signatures at a McHenry County Republican Party fundraiser last week.
Illinois Review followed up on Lester's claim, asking the radio talk show host "Are you, or someone on your behalf, circulating petitions to challenge Hultgren in the 14th CD?"
Walsh's response via text was four letters: "Nope."
Walsh has just concluded a six-day tour in the Chicago area, supporting law enforcement with "Blue Lives Matter" rallies.
