TINLEY PARK - The breakdown of one-man, one-woman marriages is key to America's growing poverty crisis, GOP Presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee said last Friday in Chicago's southwest suburbs.
Former Arkansas Governor Huckabee warned that his comments may cause him to be under fire in the days closing in on the GOP's first presidential debate next Thursday, as he addressed a gathering hosted by the Black conservative think tank "Freedom's Journal Institute."
"The single greatest contributor to poverty is the breakdown of the traditional family of one man as a husband and one woman as a mother raising their children in a loving environment,” he told the audience.
