INDIANAPOLIS - Gary Varvel's latest political cartoon was pulled from the Indianapolis Star when the paper’s executive editor Jeff Taylor said many readers were offended and called it “racist.” The cartoon attacked President Obama's executive order on immigration that was announced nationally Thursday night.
Saturday the Star pulled Varvel's cartoon, with Taylor saying Varvel “did not intend to be racially insensitive in his attempt to express his strong views” about the issue, but added that the paper ”erred in publishing it.”
Racist? Offensive? What do you think? What happened to the First Amendment?
