EAST MOLINE - Republican Bobby Schilling is "on the road" to take back his Congressional seat from Democrat Cheri Bustos in November with a new ad that features a helmet-clad Schilling riding an American-made Harley Davidson in the 17th CD.
"I know these roads. Lived here my whole life," Schilling says over background music that sounds like the theme song to the popular GEICO money man motorcycle ad. "I know our people, our places and our perseverence."
With no GEICO dollar bills floating in his Harley's wake, Schilling connects with TV ad viewers in Peoria, Rockford and the Quad Cities.
"I know our struggles and successes. This is my home. This is where Christie and I are raising our ten kids.It's where I started our family restaurant. I know firsthand how Washington makes it hard for families and workers, and I want to stop it."
