MOKENA, IL - Following up on yesterday's story (HERE) about the threat made against the Illinois Family Institute, Illinois Review has learned that the Thomas More Society has sent a letter to the FBI, the Will County Attorney General, and the Mokena police about the incident.
Part of the letter reads:
"Our clients, the Illinois Family Institute (“IFI”), its executive director, David Smith, and its staff executive, Ms. Laurie Higgins, have asked us to seek your intervention, protection, and law enforcement assistance against the perpetrator who posted on IFI’s Facebook page the attached web posting, using the name “Casey Corbin,” which we believe to constitute a “true threat” and criminal incitement to violence, mayhem, and murder. This web posting contains explicit incitements of violence, amounting to direct threats of imminent lawless violence against our client, its staff and founders, its friends and supporters, and – by name – against Ms. Laurie Higgins and her family."
The text of the threat can be found HERE.
