SPRINGFIELD - Although "We are One Chicago" were in the Capitol rotunda Wednesday afternoon protesting any proposals that would shrink their pension benefits, they voiced anger with Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, chanting, "Hey hey, ho, ho, Rahm Emanuel's got to go!"
AFSCME, SEIU, Chicago Fraternal Order of Police, Chicago Teacher Union and other Chicago employee union members blamed the mayor and the legislature for failing to pay their promised fair share into the pension fund.
"Are we gonna let them take our pensions away? We're here to tell our legislators if you vote to change our pensions, you're gonna be gone!" the police union rep Bill Dougherty told the crowd. "There's no way we're gonna let them take our pensions!"
