BURR RIDGE - Dr. Barbara Bellar's One-Sentence Critique of Obamacare has now surpassed the 2 million view mark, and it's about to go higher. Thursday night, Dr. Bellar will be featured with Fox News' Greta Van Susteren's On the Record and Friday she'll be interviewed on the Lou Dobbs Show.
Dr. Bellar told Illinois Review recently that she's delighted with all the notoriety she's getting from the YouTube of her speech at the August 21 Women for Romney event in DesPlaines, but she's really focused on getting local support for her 18th District Senate race.
"I need votes in the 18th Senate district, and my opponent's being backed by Mike Madigan's Democrats," she said.
Bellar's opponent, Democrat Bill Cunningham, filed his September 30th Board of Elections' report with $41,000 on hand. Cunningham has received donations from the Chicago Teachers Union, the Illinois Federation of Teachers and other teacher union PACs. 18th District voters report that Cunningham is doing push-polling robo calls.
Bellar has loaned nearly $15,000 to herself since July, and her most generous contributor thus far has been Otto Engineering at $10,000.
Bellar has received endorsements from organizations like the United Republican Fund, Illinois Family Action, Illinois Federation for Right to Life, 60 Plus and the Will County Tea Party.
