According to the Daily Herald, “Democrat Bill Foster (photo right) told Illinois delegates at the Democratic National Convention this morning that he supported nearly all of President Barack Obama’s initiatives in Congress while he was there and hopes to do so again.”
In short, Foster's pitch to 11th District voters is: “I was a Democrat rubber stamp in the last Congress so send me back to Washington so I can be a Democrat rubber stamp in the next Congress.”
The argument is valid in that Foster was slavish to the Obama agenda when he served previously. He rubber stamped Obamacare and the Democrats' agenda to raise taxes and increase regulation.
The 11th CD was drawn by the Democrats to elect Foster. However, a recent press release from the Foster campaign admits that despite the new district, the campaign's own polling has Foster trailing Biggert.
