Governor Pat Quinn obviously doesn't care how the AFSCME union's endorsement two days before his agreement with them guaranteeing no layoffs or facility closings looks to hard-working taxpayers. And why should he care? After all, it will be us that end up footing the bill for Quinn's sweetheart deal with AFSCME.
Who among us that work in the real world wouldn't love the same guarantee AFSCME got of no layoffs over the next two years?
Brady's campaign answered news of Quinn's long ago solidified deal this am ...
"Like his former boss Rod Blagojevich, Pat Quinn has sold out the people of Illinois. After weeks of public denials to the contrary, Pat Quinn now admitted he long ago signed this eleventh hour, backroom deal with the same union leaders expected to pour millions of dollars into his campaign.”
"I have repeatedly joined good government groups and editorial boards statewide in urging Pat Quinn not to sign this pay-to-play deal. It limits Illinois' options for solving our fiscal crisis, jeopardizes the long-term benefits of state rank and file employees, and costs taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars in the midst of the worst recession in our history.”
“By refusing to immediately disclose any new contributions from the same union leaders with whom he's negotiated this state contract, Pat Quinn continues to place his own political crisis before our fiscal crisis."
