Dopenhagen Dumbo Takes a Cue from Safe School Czar

Although our Dear Reader could have flapped his Dumbo ears and flown to Dopenhagen (he still would have emitted the most toxic of all pollutants, the one that is going to cause the planet to spontaneously combust and thus bring about the death of all except those who seek refuge at Mecca), he once again exhibited the hypocrisy that defines the left. Of course, it has been said many times, most recently by Andrew Wilkow, that "socialism is for the people, not for the socialist." Therefore our traveling telepromter reader is too important to live under the oppressive rules and accords with which he seeks to shackle his subjects.

It is hard to know where to focus, given the head-spinning torrent of Obammunist aggression against the freedom of American citizens. 2009 may very well be the worst in our history when gauged by liberty lost. Of course, optimistic Obammunists will look forward to greater loss of liberty in years to come as we can see by reading the CPUSA National Chair, Sam Webb's report to the National Committee of the Communist Party U.S.A. from November 30.

Could this be Chicago-gate?

In the age of "Climate-gate" and "Crasher-gate" we may have a scandal that shares the common thread of a break-in with Watergate... that is if the Obama-media would do its actual job and not its duty as propaganda organs of the administration. Some voices spoke of "Chicagogate" after Illinois' helmet-haired joke of a Governor, Rod Blagojevich was arrested (for being a Chicago Democrat politician... well that wasn't the charge, but it explains at least some of the criminal activity.)

One of the Chicago politicky actions that led to the arrest was the attempts to sell the "F***in golden" Senate seat being vacated by fellow Chicago politician and unfortunately new President Of The United States. Now, no one thinks there is any involvement from anyone associated with the White House in any of these activities. We do know that there was "no contact" (except the times they spoke) between the President-elect (remember the podium and the stupid blue sign the narcissist stood behind as he droned to his fawning media sycophants?) Of course, there is no one in the White House who prides himself in his mob-enforcer reputation or who would say send dead fish to a foe.

The FFT (Feckless Fifty-Two point seven percent of those who voted in the 2008 election) have set the car on fire, cut the brake lines, and pushed it off the plateau and it is barreling down a steep slope. There is an occasional explosion as the flame reaches certain areas. Some of the explosions are set off with the help of RINO ignition sources such as Mark Kirk and his seven fellow Cap and Traitors. Other explosions are set off solely by chain reactions inherent with Dimocrat majorities, such as the deadly votes to imprison Americans in a system of socialized medicine.

Can there be hope for those (American citizens) trapped in the burning vehicle? Some of the FFT are awakening and now depress the brake pedal with all their might. Alas, they have cut the brake lines, what did they expect to happen? Of course, some assisted in the severing of the lines at the direction of those they trusted without any thought for potential consequence. The hope now lies in obstacles and fire suppression systems. The obstacles must be such that they do not cause a hard impact and the final deadly explosion. They must slow the vehicle and bring it to a stop by reducing its momentum. The fire suppression system must remove the fuel if possible, and deprive the growing blaze of the oxygen it requires.

Kirk's Mentor is Proud of Obama

I hope the subject doesn't confuse my fellow Illinois citizens. I can see that the inclination might be to assume that the "Kirk" is perhaps former Governor Edgar's Chief of Staff Kirk Dillard, who was by the way, former Chief of Staff for former Governor Edgar. Oh and he cut a campaign ad for a certain presidential candidate who went on to beat our hapless nominee in 2008.

Of course we are not to take this campaign ad into account as we decide if Former Governor Edgar's former Chief of Staff should be our nominee for our governor, since his endorsement was only during the primary and he...uh...went back to being a Republican I guess, immediately following the release of the ad. Anyway, the "mentor" is not Jim Edgar and the "Kirk" is not the star of an Obama campaign spot, turned Republican gubernatorial candidate.

Naturally, then, the "Kirk" is our favorite RINO, Rep. Mark Kirk and his "mentor" is none other than the bumbling candidate that landed us with Obama. The man who refuses to allow the party to move on and perhaps recover, has graciously expressed pride in our President's latest "historic" achievement.

Hasn't McCain Done Enough Damage?

It should come as no surprise to conservatives, that the man who has such a history of delighting in any punch he can land on conservatives will not unclench his jaws from the neck of the Republican Party. I must admit that I fell into the trap, as I'm certain did many others. I fought my gut and cast a vote for John McCain in November, 2008. When his campaign had given the nation Barack Hussein Obama (note I am not making the "Mmm, mmm, mmm" sounds), I foolishly thought there was a glint of silver in the clouds that darkenened our great nation. At least, I thought, John McCain will go away now. At least, I hoped, John McCain would retire from his war against conservatives and allow the Republican Party to move back to the right.

It was not meant to be, sadly, as John McCain will not demonstrate grace. The man who campaigned like a limp mop (perhaps because his opponent wasn't a conservative) is still fighting to ensure the Republican Party maintains its minority position. Is it an ego issue? Is that why McCain thinks the GOP needs to be modeled after himself? Is it a matter of spite? Whatever the reason, his efforts are exactly the opposite of what the party needs. (Please feel free to inquire as to who the Hell I think I am to say what the party does or does not need.)

Obama’s approval rating falls significantly in Ohio

B. Hussein, can you say “ground shifting beneath you?” While of course it is ridiculous to suggest that a man who bleached his skin white and had his children fathered by a white guy is some sort of leader in the struggle for black equality, doesn’t Al Sharpton have a point? After all, would the Celebutard in Chief have been elected but for the transformation of the last election into another exhibition of our bizarre celebrity culture?

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, as long as you’re advocating Congressional resolutions to honor important dead people like Michael Jackson, perhaps you might want to have one enacted for the men and women killed in Afghanistan and Iraq. Newsflash: normal Americans actually think being killed by bullets and bombs defending the rest of us is actually more significant than having a song that is number one with a bullet on the Billboard charts.

Shell bills fly, Second Amendment bills die

If you think the dawn has broken and things are changing in Springfield, you'll find this little observation interesting...

This being the first full week of the Illinois House meeting in the 96th General Assembly, it's almost mind-boggling how fast and furious bills are being introduced.  They range from hand-washing mandates to seat belts on school buses to those mysterious "shell bills."  "Shell bills" are especially interesting when they contain no wording, but only title.  Now that's a little disturbing to most of us, but it's actually pretty normal in legislative procedure.  They usually sit in Rules Committee throughout the session, and are used only for backup.

It's when you find one state representative with over 70 "shell bills" not only being introduced, but being assigned to committees -- without content -- that should cause conservative Republicans to nail bite if they aren't already. 

Indeed, State Rep. Lou Lang (D-Chicago), one of Speaker Mike Madigan's insiders whose Springfield office is in the Speaker's own office suite, has the honor of sponsoring HB 79 through HB 143 -- all msyterious, empty shells bills, but all moving and assigned for House committee votes next week.

Big deal, you say, so what?  Rules Committee chairman Barbara Flynn Currie is assigning everyone's bills to committee this year.  What's the big deal?  Check out the progress of State Rep. Randy Ramey's pro-Second Amendment so-called "pre-emption law" HB 172, which is yet to be assigned.  Oh yeah, those in front of that bill and behind it have been assigned to move as early as next week.  But none advancing Second Amendment rights in Illinois.

So you think it doesn't matter who's in control of Springfield?  Think again.  More to come...

McCain Proves the Farce of His Nomination

The silly season of American presidential politics is over and as things calm down, the Republican nominee is back in his comfortable role of Democrat lap dog. The bright side is that “The Maverick” is back in the good graces of the media that temporarily scorned him in favor of “The One.” Therefore the bright side is only a bright side for McCain, his fellow RINOs, and of course the Democrats.

Isn’t it a shame that the media flip-flop-flip on McCain didn’t teach the Republican Party anything. The media migration away from McCain to the complete liberal candidate should serve as a reminder of what will happen when a misguided Republican Party tries to win as just less than Democrat! Of course, we have the “reformers” who will shout “single issue, reach out, er…. moderate, independent, maverick…” and indicate the path to victory is a duplication of McCain’s candidacy only this time with the silencing of all conservative voices.

In Defense of the Maverick

I am writing in response to Sam Pierce's slaying of Senator John McCain in his January 9, 2009 post. 

 

As a longtime McCainiac, co-chair of his Young Professional organization in Illinois in 2008, and a delegate on his behalf from the 7th Congressional District, I remain proud of his distinguished service to this country, including his recent run for the White House. 

 

In my mind, McCain's record as a reliable Republican vote speaks for itself.  Indeed, as the party shifted away from its reformist and fiscally conservative ways, Senator McCain was often a lone source of reason.  His basic beliefs lie at the center of what makes the core tenets of the Republican Party superior to that of Democrats, regardless of the outcomes of the last two election cycles when it was successively moved from the fulcrums of power in Washington.

 

The Electorate Has Spoken

We are days away from a historic presidential inauguration, at least that is what we are told in pulsating liberal media reports that seem to be building to the ultimate climax of Obamasm. I would say that the upcoming nightmare is indeed historic, but only because it is the inauguration of an unbelievably bad candidate that should have never stood a chance to win election to high office.

While media blowhards like MSNBC’s Chris Matthews are “tingling” with pleasure (I wonder if his “tingle” is related to his spittle stream), conscientious Americans who paid attention during the campaign are left to wonder what the FFT (Feckless Fifty Two percent) could have possibly been thinking. If, that is, they had been thinking at all.
