"I'm going to World Series" a phase I never thought I would ever say. The truth is I don't have a ticket but I'm down here outside of Wrigley Field. The Chicago Cubs will be playing the Cleveland Indians for the 2016's series games 3, 4 and 5.
The Cubs lost Friday night's Game #3 1 to 0.
While Illinois Review does not have a sports section now, it may someday. Of course there are always politics to talk about. The big story nationally with the election less then nine days away is the FBI investigation of Hillary Clinton's emails. Ask somebody here in Wrigleyville, the Cubs are the only story for now.
The security around the ballpark us unprecedented. All days off for Chicago Police are cancelled along with each officer working 12 hour shifts for the next three days. There are snowplows ready to block every street similar to the G8 and presidential visits. Security is tight.
I still don't have a ticket but I'll be there outside Wrigley Field on Waveland Avenue. We ballhawks arrive early for batting practice. Wrigley Field is the only major league ballpark where you can catch a baseball outside in the street.
Friday, twelve balls came over the wall during batting practice. The 30 mph winds helped. On a sidenote, the economic impact is enormous for Chicago.
