SPRINGFIELD - State Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno (R-Lemont) has appointed State Senator Jason Barickman (R-Bloomington) to take the top Republican spot on the Senate Judiciary committee.
“Senator Barickman has proven his leadership abilities through his work on this and other committees, including as co-chair of the Legislative Audit Commission,” said Radogno. “I look forward to having him take the lead for our caucus on the very important legislation that comes before this committee.”
Barickman’s appointment fills a vacancy created by the departing Sen. Kirk Dillard (R-Hinsdale), who is leaving the Senate to chair the Regional Transportation Authority.
“Sen. Dillard has been a strong voice for all Illinois residents on this committee,” said Sen. Barickman. “I hope to continue his record of working in bipartisan fashion to develop real solutions to the major issues facing our state."
