SCHAUMBURG - If you're a fan of P.F. Chang's lettuce rolls, their crispy green beans or their crab wontons, you'll be relieved to find out that only one of the five Chicago area restaurants is included in the list of 33 restaurants where customer credit and debit card information might have been stolen.
The Schaumburg P.F. Chang's in Woodfield Mall is the only store in Illinois which forensics experts are investigating. The company says the breach may have been ongoing from November 2013 through June 10th, 2014.
The security compromise has been contained, and P.F. Chang’s has been processing credit and debit card data securely since June 11, 2014.
"We have determined that the security of our card processing systems was compromised, and we have reason to believe that the intruder may have stolen some data from certain credit and debit cards that were used during specified time frames at 33 P.F. Chang’s China Bistro branded restaurant locations in the continental United States," a company statement says.
The potentially stolen credit and debit card data includes the card number and in some cases also the cardholder’s name and/or the card’s expiration date.
