Earlier this week, Illinois Review reported on an email that Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth sent out to 8th CD supporters criticizing Republican opponent Larry Kaifesh (a 23-year veteran) as "unfit to serve" because Kaifesh conveyed a controversial quote from Dr. Ben Carson on his Facebook page.
Turns out, Duckworth not only wrote a scathing email, she repeated the "unfit to serve" comment about Kaifesh (a U.S. Marine) on her "Tammy Duckworth for Congress" Facebook page. (see above)
Paul Winters of Dignitas News Service is calling for Duckworth to apologize to Kaifesh and Dr. Carson:
Conservatives applaud Dr. Carson’s thoughtful words and the subject and give a tip of the hat (and a Facebook “like”) to GOP challenger Lawrence Kaifesh for his appreciation of it. Kaifesh is a capable and qualified individual who has served our country admirably for 23 years as a member of our armed forces. Rather than be chastised for daring to care enough to comment on a problem that only the willfully blind can ignore he should be lauded for opening up the discussion so as a nation we can look to ways to improve the lives of our fellow Americans.
Democratic incumbent Rep. Tammy Duckworth in the least should certainly have displayed more circumspection and professionalism in responding to her opponents views. In falsely attributing Ben Carson’s quote to her GOP opponent, Democrat Tammy Duckworth has lowered us all by subjecting the public to a nasty and divisive form of “Chicago” politics. Lawrence Kaifesh, Dr. Ben Carson, the American people, and above all the voters of Chicago deserve an apology. Representative Duckworth may be reached on her US House of Representatives website.
