I was in Home Depot this week when the solution to Chicago's Crime problems hit me. We should just install these "no gun" signs in high crime areas and the violence will stop. Perhaps I should get the Nobel Peace Prize for this idea.

All kidding aside, the city's violence is not a laughing matter. Chicago has a huge amount of violence, most often involving guns. Our current elected officials feel a big push to eliminate guns to solve the problem without consideration of the Second Amendment. Instead, they are installing signs.
A family member of mine had a better idea. That is to go after the criminals, specifically "known gang members." They said, "If we know who they are, why don't we get them?" That makes sense to me.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Police Superintendent Gary McCarthy spend day after day talking about "gun violence" like the guns just shoot people. The old saying is apt: "Guns don't kill people, people kill people."
Day after day, they speak of the great job they are doing including so-called statistics showing violent crime is on the downswing. It sure doesn't seem that way, in fact it seems like it's on the rise. The media seems to be underreporting flash mobs on Michigan Avenue, increased incidents on public transportation, and more incidents on the beaches and lakefront.
