CHICAGO - Illinois Democrat congressman Brad Schneider's war chest grew by $795,000 in the second quarter, bringing his total campaign stash to $1.9 million.
His Republican challenger Bob Dold, collected more than $610,000 in the quarter ending June 30 to raise his funds to $1.65 million.
The Schneider-Dold race is shaping up to be Illinois' most expensive congressional race in 2014.
It's also one of the most contentious. Last week the Schneider camp accused Dold of Patton rigging a poll by American Action Network that has Dold leading Schneider 42-39 percent with 19 percent undecided.
