CHICAGO - Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner responded to media reports media reports that an adviseer to an organization participating in Gov. Pat Quinn's Neighborhood Recovery Initiative admits the purpose of the program was to turn out votes for Quinn in the 2010 election. Rauner stated:
"It's deeply disturbing that a former adviser to the lead agency implementing NRI in a high-priority Democratic turnout area said in no uncertain terms that the goal of NRI was to get out the vote. This is yet another reason why Governor Quinn needs to come clean and release all documents and emails related to the program. While the U.S. Attorney will determine whether any laws were broken, it's clear the Legislative Audit Commission should move forward and help the people of Illinois get the answers they deserve."
The Legislative Audit Commission meets tomorrow morning to decide whether to proceed with testimony from members of Pat Quinn’s inner circle.
