Over the weekend hundreds of protest took place across the nation in the wake of the flood of unaccompanied illegal immigrant minors and incomplete families overwhelming authorities in Texas.
Protesters in Moline, Illinois where especially upset at the situation because neighboring Davenport, Iowa mayor Bill Gluba has openly sought to have an undisclosed number of illegal immigrant minors brought to the Quad Cities area.
One man said that it was the “dumbest thing he(Mayor Gluba) could do”.
One woman was all for welcoming legal immigrants into the country but could not stand the fact that many illegal immigrants are able to obtain welfare assistance.
Another protester pointed out that the mayor recently vetoed two construction projects that would have brought jobs and economic activity to the QC area.
One of the protest organizers estimates that they had well over a thousand positive responses from motorist traveling along I-74 and from those traveling adjuioning surface streets.
