LOMBARD - The DuPage County Election Board recently knocked the Democrat opponent to Peter Breen off the ballot. The Board ruled the Democrats didn’t follow the rules laid out by Illinois law to slate a candidate.
However, Mike Madigan, Chairman of the Illinois Democrat Party and Speaker of the Illinois House of Representative has filed suit to overturn the Election Board’s decision.
Madigan has retained attorney Mike Kasper to represent the Democrats. Kasper is the lawyer one who recently succeeded in knocking the Fair Map amendment off the ballot. The Chicago Tribune refers to him as “The House speaker’s henchman.”
Breen says despite Madigan's suit, he's "hard at work on the campaign trail, talking to voters across the 48th District about how to fix the mess in Springfield and turn things around for the people of Illinois."
He's also raising money, knowing that Madigan "never goes down without a fight." "Together, we're going to win this race!" says Breen
