CARBONDALE - GOP congressional candidate Mike Bost took note of the fact that Democrat Congressmen Bill Enyart picked chose to campaign rather than join his colleagues on the issue of VA reform.
"Congressmen Enyart is once again missing on the issue of veterans’ health care," said Bost spokesman Ron Deedrick. "The thousands of veterans in the 12th District deserve to know that Enyart chose to be dialed into Jimmy Buffet's 'Cheeseburgers in Paradise,' at a local fair instead of working for them."
According to Deedrick, over 100 of Enyart's House colleagues, including Illinois members Bustos, Foster, Schakowsky, Quigley, Duckworth, Gutierrez and Schneider, have signed a letter calling for VA reform. But, Enyart "chose cheeseburgers over helping to fix the VA," said Deedrick. "Enyart should explain why he was absent from signing this bipartisan letter and saying he was in a southern Illinois food coma doesn’t cut it."
This is not the first time this year that Enyart has been missing on Veteran's Administration issues. Back on April 30 and May 1, the Congressmen missed key votes that would have funded the Veteran's Administration.
