Conservative leader Jack Roeser was laid to rest in a funeral mass on Tuesday at Saint Catherine of Siena In West Dundee, Illinois. Monday night the wake was held at Otto Engineering, with more than 1500 people paying their respects. Several hundred friends and family attended the funeral. He was buried with full military honors at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetary.
Later Tuesday evening, many more tributes for Jack were said at the Northwest Suburban Republican Dinner at the Cotillion in Palatine. Gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner spent the first five minutes of his keynote address dedicated to Jack. All the other speakers mentioned Jack in their remarks, as well.
The dinner was attended by about 500 loyal Republicans, sponsored by the Republican Township Organizations of Barrington, Elk Grove, Hanover, Maine, Northfield, Palatine, Schaumburg, and Wheeling. Jack was a sponsor of the dinner, ang his legacy lives on.
I think he would have liked the title on the program, "Restoring Illinois to Prosperity." Jack will be truly missed.
