CHICAGO - Monday, Governor Quinn will sign a bill to restore dental and podiatrist services, among others, to the state's Medicaid patients. Two years ago, the services were cut as part of a reform package, and State Rep. Greg Harris (D-Chicago) argued the services should be restored. The patients end up in more expensive emergency room services if they're not getting access to doctor care, he said.

Democrat House members Costello, Franks and Yingling voted against SB 741's changes and Republicans Bost, Cavaletto, Cross, Demmer, David Harris, Hays, McAuliffe, Moffitt, Pritchard, Rosenthal, Senger and Unes all supported it.
Republicans senators Dillard, LaHood, Luechtefeld, McCann, McConnaughay, Rose and Syverson voted for SB 741's restoration of services while Democrat Mike Jacobs opposed the changes, although he remains listed as a bill co-sponsor.
