Chicago Republicans were awake early Saturday morning at their monthly breakfast meeting. Longtime Republican and Chicago businessman Vince Kohlber was slated in an unanimous vote to run for Congress against Democrat Mike Quigley in the 5th district.
Illinois Review interviewed Kolber when he was pursuing the job of IL GOP Chairman in 2013. Find out more about him HERE.
The meeting was attended by about 40 people including Stefanie Linares who is running against John Cullerton in the 6th district and Mark Calonder running for State Representative in the 10th. Other people in attendance included Blair Garber, Charlene Foss, Eloise Gerson, Susan Sweeney, Steve Boulton, Laura Jacksack, and John Fogarty.
Under the direction of Committeemen Chris Cleveland and Scott Davis, Republicans get together every second Saturday at the Chicago GOP Headquarters at 2768 North Lincoln Avenue. All are welcome for free coffee, muffins and donuts. Next meeting is Saturday, June 14, 2013 at 8:30AM.
