CHICAGO - GOP gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner's 1993 divorce from his first wife Elizabeth is the topic of a story posted Monday by Business Insider Australia.
Court documents posted with the story show that Rauner's first wife Elizabeth allegedly discovered her husband had a "paramour," and was seeking legal counsel about a divorce.
Although the documents say Rauner said at first he desired to reconcile with the mother of his then-6, 4 and 1 year-old children, he later told her he intended to buy a house in which to live with his girlfriend.
Elizabeth and Bruce Rauner were divorced at the end of July 1993, and the children lived with their mother.
The Business Insider says Rauner's second wife Diana was employed at the same investment firm where Bruce Rauner was partner in the late 80s and early 90s.
Rauner, who says he and his second wife have been married for 20 years, presumedly married Diana in 1993 or 1994.
