NAPERVILLE – Tuesday, an ad with a target on Governor Pat Quinn is being released by Americans for Prosperity – Illinois. The goal is to keep the 2011 temporary 67% state income tax hike temporary.
“Governor Pat Quinn assured Illinoisans that the 67% increase in our income taxes would be temporary and begin sunsetting in 2015. We expect him to keep that promise. And we expect legislators to keep that promise, too,” said AFP Illinois State Director David From. “They need to honor their commitment to their constituents and allow the tax hike to expire as they promised taxpayers when the measure was passed."
AFP-IL's $140,000 cable buy will run in markets across the state, specifically the Northwest Cook Suburbs, Quad Cities, Will County, Metro East, and Springfield markets. AFP-IL is also sending mailers to legislative districts in which lawmakers told voters they supported the tax hike sunsetting at the end of 2014.
