CHICAGO - While three Republicans have stepped up to challenge Democrats in Cook County races, no one is willing to take on Democrat incumbents Cook County Board Chairman Toni Preckwinkle or Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart.
Still, Cook County GOP Chairman Aaron Del Mar boasts that three Republicans have agreed to be slated for countywide offices in the November 2014 election.
"The Democrats in Cook County County have grown complacent, thinking they own our county. We have three candidates who have stepped up to take on the Democrat machine," Del Mar said.
The countywide slated GOP candidates are Tondalaya Maria Nelson, for County Clerk, Antonio Mannings, for County Treasurer; and Robert Foss, for Cook County Assessor.
If 5400 signatures are gathered before June 1st, the slated candidates will run with the Party’s endorsement in the November 4th General Election.
