CHICAGO - Wednesday Cook County Republican township and ward committeemen will be choosing who will be their GOP county chairmen for the next four years. Incumbent chairman Aaron Del Mar is being challenged by Chicago GOP vice-chairman Chris Cleveland.
The contest has been tense, with both sides actively campaigning to lead the state's largest Republican party. As this is politics, one of the issues being discussed is money.
The Cook County Republican Party filed its D-2 report report Tuesday with $478.67 in the bank. It reported receipts of $1,400 and expenditures of $2,144 for the quarter ending March 31.
The Chicago GOP filed its D-2 report with $38,108.34 in the bank. It reported receipts of $22,629.56 and expenditures of $36,141.17 for the quarter ending March 31.
