Democrats are in a corner of their own making and have devised a desperate Hail Mary play to double down on failure in the hope they can turn defense into offense on Obamacare. The new strategy will not work but it is the only play they have left to cheer up their own troops and slow down defections from nervous Democratic incumbents who want to run away from the health care fiasco.
The same administratiion that could not even offer a number of enrollees when HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius testified before Congress, now comes up with a comically precise to the decimal point number of "7.1 million Americans" who have signed up for the Obamacare scheme and the always cheerleading left media celebrates the charade. The president even held a Victory lap news conference to crow about his delusions. He is hoping a combination of denial and chutzpah will be enough to reverse public opinion polls that for years have hardened against Obamacare.
With a Florida special election and polls in key states indicating a grim November for Democrats, Obama is running out of time.
