“As an individual, as the CEO of a corporation and as the head of a lobbying association, Bert Miller has consistently supported the very same Democrats who are over-taxing, over-spending and over-regulating our state and country—forcing us into an economic death spiral. In the past, Miller has financially supported Barack Obama, Michael Madigan, Rod Blagojevich and many, many more Democrats who have raised our taxes and forced jobs out of our state. The simple truth is that Bert Miller cannot be part of the solution because he is a big part of the problem.”
As reported previously, the Super PAC New Prosperity Foundation is run by Greg Baise, who is President and CEO of the Illinois Manufacturer's Association (IMA). Baise, who is involved in the IMA's polling company "We Ask America" is also President of IMA Service Corporation, which goes by the name Xpress Professional Services or XPS.
Questions are being raised about possible illegal coordination between the New Prosperity Foundation Super PAC and the Bert Miller campaign. As President of the company doing Miller's research/strategy and advertising (including his cable buys), and as an Officer for the Super PAC that just made a $53k independent expenditure for Miller, Baise may be walking a fine line.
As one veteran political observer noted, "the Baise, IMA, XPS connection is just another part of the established Illinois political machine. The part with an 'R' next to it."
