Short on funds needed to compete with GOP primary opponents Bruce Rauner and Kirk Dillard, GOP gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady offers this closing argument to supporters as voters go to the polls Tuesday:
It seems like it was just yesterday that I announced that I would once again run for Governor. Time flies on the campaign trail, and today voters face an important decision as they determine the direction of our great state. While my opponents face a variety of challenges that Pat Quinn will capitalize on in the general election, the only knock on our campaign is that I've already lost before.
Fortunately, we live in a country of second chances. If everyone quit the first time they encountered a setback, Jeb Bush would never have become Governor of Florida, the Beatles would never have landed in America, and Abraham Lincoln would never have been President.
I've learned a lot from my last campaign, and I look forward to putting that knowledge and experience to good use as we remove Pat Quinn and his failed leadership from office for good. I've proven myself to be a Reliable Republican, always letting others know where I stand, helping other conservatives get elected, and remaining true to my values.
It's my sincere hope that you place your vote with the candidate you know best today. Not one from thirty second sound bites or liberal endorsements, but a true conservative that can bring jobs back to Illinois.
Illinois needs a Governor that can lead with integrity. That's why I'm asking for your vote.
Senator Bill Brady
