CGI Group Inc., the Canadian company that built the federal Obamacare website, will be replaced next month when its contract with the U.S. government expires.
According to reports, the Obama administration intends to sign a contract with Accenture Plc to complete unfinished work on HealthCare.gov and run the site, said the person, who asked not to be identified because the decision isn't public.
Like CGI, Accenture is incorporated outside the United States in Dublin, Ireland. It's operations headquarters are in Chicago.
As many Chicagoans know, Accenture was previously Andersen Consulting, a division of Chicago-based accounting giant Arthur Andersen, which was dissolved after it was alleged to have been involved in the fraudulent accounting and auditing of Sunbeam Products, Waste Management, Inc, WorldCom, as well as the infamous Enron case, among others.
