SPRINGFIELD - Wednesday at 5:00 PM is the deadline for applicants to get information into the Illinois Republican Party headquarters to be considered for Republican National Committeeman vacancy left by the recent death of Rich Williamson.
The IL GOP State Central Committee will meet to choose the new national committeman January 18th before the RNC's annual Winter Meeting in D.C. starting January 22.
The process timeline will be as follows:
Wednesday, January 8, 2014 by 5:00pm CT
Completed application packets, which shall include at a minimum: (1) a Notice of Candidacy; [email jodom(at)ilgop.org to request this form] (2) a letter of intent that includes reasons for pursuing this position and the name of exactly one State Central Committeeman who will offer a recommendation on his behalf; (3) a curriculum vitae or resume that includes committee, group, and campaign involvement; and (4) and any other material the applicant wishes to present to the Committee shall be submitted to Jayme Odom at the Illinois Republican Party office, 55 W Monroe, Suite 940, Chicago Illinois 60603 no later than Wednesday, January 8, 2014 by 5:00pm CT. Application packets received after this time will not be considered.
Candidates are strongly encouraged to hand-deliver their application materials, or to send them via overnight mail. Application documents will also be accepted by email to jodom(at)ilgop.org, or U.S. Mail, but must be actually received by 5:00pm CT on Wednesday, January 8, 2014. APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED BY FAX. All applicants will be provided with a receipt for filing.

The Illinois Republican State Central Committee will convene a meeting in Chicago, Illinois with the stated purpose of voting to fill the vacancy of Illinois National Committeeman.
A candidate who garners over 50% of the vote of the State Central Committee shall be declared the winner, and will immediately assume the office of National Committeeman.
In the event a Committee member and a deputy member are both absent from the meeting, a written proxy vote will be allowed if it is presented by any current member of the State Central Committee. Official proxy forms will be distributed to State Central Committee members upon request.

A regular meeting of the Republican National Committee will take place in Washington, DC. The newly-elected Illinois National Committeeman will be encouraged to attend.
