EDWARDSVILLE - Monday, Illinois gubernatorial primary GOP candidate Bruce Rauner is likely to get a colder than expected reception when his "Shake Up Express" bus tour stops in southern Illinois next week, thanks to an arctic blast sending Illinois temps to 20 year historical lows.
Temperatures are expected to be below zero the first part of the week as Rauner's bus visits Edwardsville, Waterloo, Carbondale, Anna, Vienna, Marion, Johnston City, West Frankfort and Mt. Vernon. The trip will proceed then to McLeansboro, Carmi, Mount Carmel, Albion, Effingham, Decatur, and Champaign. Later in the week, he'll stop in Chicago, Elmhurst, Lake Forest and Gurnee.
“Illinoisans are ready to shake up state government and make this year Pat Quinn’s last one as governor,” Bruce Rauner said. “And while national Democrats and government union bosses are preparing to spend millions on attack ads in an attempt to hijack the Republican primary, I look forward to personally sharing my vision for more jobs, lower taxes and spending, better schools, and term limits with the people of Illinois.
