Roll Call has an interesting piece about the growing relationship between U.S. Senator Mark Kirk (R) and Illinois Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (D) who tops the Democrat's list of politicians who could run for Senate against Kirk in 2016.
Sources tell Roll Call that "the Illinois congressional delegation has been more collegial in recent months than it has been in a long time, meeting regularly in Durbin’s office and working well together on local issues. Much of this is thanks to Kirk’s improved relationship with Democrats such as Duckworth and Senate Majority Whip Richard J. Durbin."
Despite being asked, Kirk has yet to answer whether he will back Durbin's Republican opponent in this year's election. Doug Truax and Jim Oberweis are running in the GOP primary to challenge him in November.
