SCHAUMBURG, IL – In an endorsement upset, 8th Congressional GOP candidate Larry Kaifesh grabbed the unanimous support of the Indian American Republican Organization (IARO) over Kaifesh's Indian-American primary opponent Manju Goel.
“The 8th Congressional District is a critical race in 2014 and the IARO wanted to endorse a candidate who can win in November,” said Nimish Jani, IARO Chairman and a Schaumburg Township Trustee. “Our board carefully considered each candidate’s qualifications, viability, and issue positions. In a unanimous decision, our board felt that Larry Kaifesh is the best choice in IL-8.”
The Indian American Republican Organization is focused on electing candidates that believe in fiscal discipline, a balanced budget, efficient government, increased transparency, lower taxes, and the best-in-class education. With over 220,000 Indian-Americans in Illinois, the IARO works with the Indian-American community to advance these goals.
“I am proud to have earned the endorsement of the Indian American Republican Organization,” said Kaifesh. “In the 8th Congressional District, Indian-Americans are an integral part of the fabric of our communities and I am grateful for the IARO’s support.”
Kaifesh's opponent in the March 18th GOP primary is Aurora resident Manju Goel, who has been endorsed by former Congressman and radio talk show host Joe Walsh, as well as Illinois Congressmen Aaron Schock and Rodney Davis.
