TurningPointUSA has some ideas on how conservatives can respond to Obama-adoring family members at Christmas holiday gatherings. They list six myth conservatives may be hearing from their aunts and provide quick and easy answers to each of them.
For instance, in response to Myth #2: "ObamaCare will guarantee coverage to all," the "reality" response is:
This untruth is one of the most prevalent. However, the fact that it is told a million and one times does not, and never will make it true. It takes a simple bit of logic to debunk this lie. It I simply illogical to guarantee such massive terms. Not everyone will have coverage immediately. Not everyone will have coverage in the first ten years. Even many years further down the road there will be a number of people who are not able to obtain insurance. Numbers? According to various sources, only 4 million of the 30 million currently uninsured will be able to obtain health insurance through the marketplace. The many who will not be able to obtain healthcare are illegal immigrants, those who make too much for the tax credits, those who “fall through the cracks” of the complicated qualification system, and those who lose their healthcare formally provided from their employer. The expenses, tax increases on both people and businesses, and complicated exchange system make the guarantee that everyone will have healthcare entirely false.
