Republicans elected to office from Illinois are letting those of us who sent them to Springfield and Washington down big time.
State Rep. Tom Cross let down everyone who believes in traditional marriage and the Republican Party platform when he voted to redefine marriage.
House minority leader Jim Durkin, Senate minority leader Christine Radogno, and gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady let everyone who wants true pension reform down when they voted for the fake, phony, fraudulent pension fix.
Illinois's congressional Republicans let everyone who wants Washington to embrace fiscal responsibility down when they voted for the sequestration ending, spending increasing, tax raising, Paul Ryan-Patty Murray budget deal.
These and other examples are enough to make a Republican voting conservative want to either stay home on election day or join a third party.
I don't blame my fellow Republicans and conservatives for feeling that way.
Our elected officials are doing nothing to instill any confidence in them of the Illinois GOP.
But instead of sitting at home or going third party I'm of the mind of teaching these wayward Republicans a lesson by supporting their challengers.
For voting for the redefinition of marriage I am not going to support Tom Cross's run for Treasurer but the candidacy of Bob Grogan.
By voting for the fake pension fix Bill Brady has put himself well behind the others running for Governor.
And because congressman's Adam Kinzinger and Rodney Davis gleefully voted for the Paul Ryan-Patty Murray budget deal I am proud to say I support the congressional bids of David Hale and Erika Harold.
