HOFFMAN ESTATES - It took Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (IL-08) eight hours to successfully sign up for health care insurance on the ObamaCare federal exchange, she told the Daily Herald editorial board Monday. After all that, she's happy with her plan - but is aware problems still exist with the program.
Duckworth said that she's tired of the "drama" surrounding whether the Affordable Care Act should be repealed and said lawmakers should focus on making the new law work. She said confused constituents could contact her office to get directed to local groups that can help them.
A list of local groups that have hired navigators to guide people through the exchange system were criticized in a congressional hearing Monday. Congressmen Darrell Issa and Pete Sessions said on cable news the ObamaCare navigators were not screened for criminal records, despite their jobs involve private medical records, raising security concerns.
