ALSIP - Word from the Cook County GOP is that Republican candidate for governor Bruce Rauner met the 60 percent threshold and won the state's most populated county's endorsement for the March 18th, 2014 primary.
Among the county's township and ward committeemen online vote this week, Rauner won 63.38% support, State Senator Kirk Dillard 10.18% and State Treasurer Dan Rutherford 5.94%. There was zero support for State Senator Bill Brady.
Unopposed Republican incumbent Judy Baar-Topinka won 67.81% of the vote for State Comptroller.
Neither Republican Tom Cross nor Bob Grogan won the base 50% for recommendation for the State Treasurer's spot. Cross received 49.26%, and Grogan 31.19%.
For U.S. Senate, Doug Truax had 38.76% and Jim Oberweis 34.31%, neither reached recommendation or endorsement levels.
