DIXON, Ill. - Former sheriff and State Sen. Tim Bivins (R-Dixon) is endorsing fellow Senator Kirk Dillard (R-Hinsdale) and State Rep. Jil Tracy (R-Quincy) for the Republican Governor-Lt. Governor 2014 Primary, citing a need to revive Illinois’ lackluster jobs and business climate. Bivins said Dillard's and Tracy’s record of success show they have the ability to effectively run the Land of Lincoln.
"I have enjoyed working with Kirk Dillard as a member of the Senate Republican leadership team. He serves as an example how we can still serve our constituents by passing important legislative initiatives even when Republicans are in the minority," Bivins said. "Senator Dillard is without a doubt the only gubernatorial candidate qualified to lead our state."
Senator Dillard, State Senator Bill Brady, State Treasurer Dan Rutherford and Chicago businessman Bruce Rauner are vying to be the IL GOP's 2014 gubernatorial candidate.
