Cross’ Kendall County Leadership Team includes Republican office holders Treasurer Jill Ferko, Kendall County Clerk Debbie Gillette, Kendall County Coroner Ken Toftoy, Kendall County Sheriff Richard Randall, Kendall County Circuit Clerk Becky Morganegg, Kendall County Board Chairman John Shaw, and Kendall County Board Members Lynn Cullick, Judy Gilmour, Scott Gryder, Dan Koukol, Matthew Prochaska, John Purcell and Jeffrey Wehrli.
“Tom Cross knows the problems faced by Illinois and knows how to solve them. He has always been a fiscal watchdog and will make a great Treasurer,” said Kendall County Treasurer Jill Ferko.
“Illinois needs someone like Tom Cross as Treasurer. Tom will be aggressive and stand up for common sense and fiscal restraint,” said Kendall County Board Chairman John Shaw. “Kendall County is a great place to live and raise a family because government has always operated within its means, Tom Cross will bring that style of government to the Treasurer’s office.”
As Treasurer, Cross says he will use the full power of the office to require the legislature to enact a balanced budget, including legal remedies. And continuing his commitment to reform, Tom will establish a Government Integrity Unit inside the Treasurer’s office, comprised of financial experts, former prosecutors and law enforcement officials who will be charged with the task of reviewing state financial documents to ensure their accuracy and protect state pension funds from corruption and fraud.
“Illinois needs a reform-minded, fiscal conservative in the office of Treasurer and I am humbled and honored with the overwhelming show of support for our campaign,” said Cross. “Together, we will work to have an honestly balanced budget, reform state spending and protect taxpayers.”
Cross and DuPage County Auditor Bob Grogan are competing for the GOP nomination in the March 2014 primary.
