SPRINGFIELD - Springfield State Representatives Rich Brauer and Raymond Poe announced Brauer said he backs Dillard and his LG teammate Tracy because of their experience as lawmakers.their support for State Senator Kirk Dillard and State Representative Jil Tracy (R-Quincy) to be the 2014 Republican nominees for Governor and Lt. Governor.
Their endorsements followed the endorsement of State Rep. David Reis' (R-Effingham) earlier this week.
“Kirk Dillard has a proven track record of leadership here in Illinois,” Brauer said. “His record of legislative excellence, and on-the-job experience as former Governor Jim Edgar's Chief of Staff, make him, without a doubt, the best candidate to be our next Governor.”
Poe credited Dillard with sponsoring legislation over the years that created jobs.
“Illinois has one of the worst economies in the country. We need to do something to bring jobs and businesses back to the state,” said Poe. “Not only has Kirk Dillard proven to be a successful advocate for job creation, having sponsored numerous bills that created jobs and brought businesses into the state, he has a long-term plan to boost job growth and revitalize Illinois’ economy.”
Dillard was endorsed by a summit of 35 Illinois social conservatives last month. Businessman Bruce Rauner, Senator Bill Brady and State Treasurer Dan Rutherford are competing with the Dillard-Tracy ticket for the March 2014 GOP nomination for governor.
