The trial is over and the verdict is in and we are grateful for the guilty verdict against her attacker, Heriberto Viramontes, who will likely spend the rest of his life in prison. But Natasha McShane still needs our help - more than ever before now.
We have to band together to show Natasha and her family that we - in the Chicago Irish community and every community - have not forgotten and will not forget her.
Natasha really should have finished her rehabilitation in the U.S. She was receiving 24/7 care in Chicago and now is only attending rehab two or three times a week. She’s had numerous setbacks – surgeries, infections, seizures, and other complications. Her family has been desperate to get her into a rehabilitation program in Ireland. But it’s not easy to do that. Our prayers are with them but we in the Irish community have to try and do more to help if we can. Much more.
That is why we are asking everyone to join the us at this event with our special guest, the Chicago Bears; Pat McCaskey, on November 22 to support Natasha McShane's full recovery.
