In a press release, the Illinois Federation of Republican Women (IFRW) announced that Michelle Buckwalter-Schurman of Mt. Carroll will lead the IFRW for a second term. Schurman is the managing partner in the law firm of Nelson, Kilgus, Richey, Huffman & Buckwalter-Schurman. She is a former president of the Carroll County Republican Women.
First vice president of the organization is Patricia Fee of Naperville. A past-president of the Naperville Area Republican Women’s Organization, Fee is also a graduate of the Illinois Lincoln Excellence in Public Service Series and president of the Illinois Republican Women PAC.
Susan Wynn Bence of Watseka is stepping into the 2nd vice president spot. An elected official serving her third term on the Iroquois County Board, Wynn Bence presently works as the Legislative Aide and Campaign Manager for State Representative Josh Harms. She is also president of the Iroquois County Republican Women Club.
Evelyn Pacino Sanguinetti of Wheaton will step into the 3rd vice president role. A lawyer and Wheaton City Council member, Sanguinetti is a one-time assistant Illinois Attorney General and was recently named as the running mate for Illinois gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner.
Linda Brown of Savoy will be serving as 4th vice president. Brown, a veterinary technician for the U of I College of Veterinary Medicine is past president of the Douglas County Republican Women and a graduate of the Illinois Excellence in Public Service Series.
Lois Soeldner of Ellsworth will continue to serve as secretary. Soeldner works in the admissions office of Illinois State University and is a member of the McLean County Republican Women.
Sue Hamilton of Carterville will serve as treasurer. Chairman of the Williamson County Republican Party and Treasurer of the Illinois Republican County Chairmen’s Association, Hamilton will be serving her second term on the IFRW Executive Committee.
Elections occurred during the Fall Biennial Convention held earlier this month in Springfield. The new Executive Committee will take office on January 1, 2014.
