The millions video gambling players are losing is providing a short term windfall for business owners, for the state, and for video machine operators. It's the players that are losing.
Using video gambing Board monthly reports since last year, the Illinois Church Action on Alcohol & Addiction Problems compiled the amount video gamers in 23 Illinois communities have lost from October 2012 to July 2013. The two towns where video gamblers have lost the most are Rockford at $5,803,538.98 and Springfield at $5,077,132.89. The next highest is Rockford area's Loves Park, where video gamers lost another $3,394,407.
