On Saturday, GOP gubernatorial candidate Kirk Dillard spoke to a packed room a the Chicago Republican Victory Center on Lincoln Avenue. Dillard's theme was "tested and prepared" which appears on his campaign literature.
Over the next three months, the victory center will host the other three candidates -- Bruce Rauner, Bill Brady, and Dan Rutherford. The general feeling in the room was that Illinois is ready for a Republican governor in 2014.
The victory center is home to the 43rd and 44th ward Republican organizations. There currently is a big push to get republican candidates for every house and senate race in 2014. Local ward committeemen including Chris Cleveland (43) and Scott Davis (44) are working on this effort. Stephanie Linares, was introduced as the candidate to take on democrat John Cullerton in the 6th district senate race.
