ELK GROVE VILLAGE - An Indian woman that came to America when she was 21 announced her intentions to be the next 8th congressional district representative to Congress Sunday at the Northwest Suburban Republicans' annual picnic.
A medical services consultant, Manju Goel was accompanied by Congressman Pete Sessions (R-Texas), who is working with Carol Stream businessman Shalli Kumar to elect ten Indian-Americans to Congress.
Goel's platform includes:

- Rewarding Hard-work and Success
- Personal Responsibility
- Strong stand against Terrorism and all those countries who support terrorism
Democrat Tammy Duckworth is the current U.S. representative for the 8th CD.
