"For any republican activist not living in Cook County, it only takes ten signatures to reform the Illinois Republican Party. Most activists can get ten signatures from family members and neighbors in an afternoon. Nearly half of the precincts outside Cook County remain vacant every election," the group said in a press release this week.
"Leaving precincts vacant of grassroots Republican activists lets the compromised establishment GOP to continue losing elections. After Pat Brady resigned as party chairman, party leadership replaced him with Jack Dorgan — a Springfield lobbyist who is linked to the Illinois Democrat Party leadership and to Bill Cellini, a notorious client currently in prison for federal corruption. It is now self-evident that Illinois Republicans need a change in leadership," said the group's chairman Allen Skillicorn.
"In order to bring this about, we have formed the Republican Liberty Caucus of Illinois. Our members work within the Republican Party to promote strong policy, to vet candidates, and to hold Republicans answerable to the principles of liberty," Skillicorn said.
The group is offering more information during a Illinois Precinct Committeeman Planning Teleconference Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 9:00 PM. To get the teleconference details, text ‘Illinois PC’ with your name and e-mail address to (973) 498-8066, or sign up at Project City Hall. The group's website offers tools they say can be used to reform the Illinois GOP.
