In reaction to the Governor's address today, State Representative Darlene Senger (R-Naperville) accused Quinn of targeting his proposed cuts "toward suburban and downstate communities," which "would suffer the greatest impact.”
“After decades of previous legislatures ignoring the problem, we are now forced to make many painful decisions. Pension costs are one of the biggest pieces of our state’s budget and they are growing rapidly. Unfortunately, inaction on pension reform has overcome our state’s budget and now limits funding for our most essential priorities,” said Senger.
